Are you thinking about offering a room?
Do you have a spare room and would you generally be open to sharing your living space with a student or an apprentice?
With “WITH each other – FOR each other,” we want to bring together people who not only share living space but also want to foster a genuine sense of community.
Who can offer housing?
In general, any private individual in Magdeburg who has suitable vacant living space is welcome to contact us.
This could be, for example, a spare room in your apartment or house. The key is that your future roommate has their own private space and can use the necessary areas, such as the kitchen and bathroom.
Not sure yet if your living space is suitable? Please feel free to contact us. We’ll work with you—with no obligation—to see if participation in the project is a possibility.
Good Reasons for a Housing Partnership
- Making Good Use of Available Living Space
- Experience more social interaction and connection in everyday life
- Get Support in Your Daily Life
- Making affordable housing possible and making a difference
- Receive personalized and secure support
As unique as your everyday life
You decide for yourself which model is right for you:
- Housing in Exchange for Assistance
You provide housing rent-free or at a significantly reduced rate and, in return, receive assistance with daily living. As a general guideline, approximately one hour of assistance per square meter of living space per month can be agreed upon. Utility costs are covered in all cases. - Affordable Housing Without Financial Assistance
Perhaps you’d simply like to put a spare room to good use and provide a young person with affordable housing. It’s also possible to rent out a room at an affordable rate without any financial assistance.
What kind of support is available?
What’s helpful in everyday life can vary greatly. Possible examples include:
- Shopping or running small errands,
- Household assistance,
- Gardening,
- Help with smartphones, computers, or other digital devices,
- Assistance with daily errands,
- shared activities or companionship.
Which tasks are actually performed is agreed upon on an individual basis between the roommates.
Nursing care, as well as medical or intimate tasks, are expressly excluded.
You decide who moves in with you
We understand that inviting a stranger into your home is a very personal decision. That’s why our focus isn’t on speed, but on getting to know one another.
Your preferences and boundaries are taken into account from the very beginning. You decide for yourself which person you’d like to get to know and who will move in with you.
A living arrangement is established only when both parties are satisfied.
Here’s how we support you
- Feel free to contact us at
. You can start by getting some advice or fill out our registration form right away. - We’ll discuss your ideas
What kind of person do you envision as a roommate? How much interaction or connection are you looking for? Should support be part of the agreement? We’ll work through these and other questions together. - We get to know your property
Before we begin the listing process, we’ll visit the property in person and discuss any questions you may have directly with you. - We are looking for a suitable candidate
Based on your preferences, we will identify which registered students or trainees might be a good fit for you. - You’ll get to know each other in person
If both parties are interested, you’ll meet in person. Afterward, take your time to make your decision. - You decide if it’s a good fit
. If it’s not a good fit for one party, that’s perfectly fine. We’ll keep looking if necessary. A living arrangement is only established once both parties agree. - We’re here for you
Even after you move in, the project coordinator will be available to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have.
